Dear Parent,

Your child is participating in the 2009 American Math Challenge.
The Challenge is being held on the Mathletics web based learning platform at www.americanmathchallenge.com from 9:00am EST November 9th until 9:00am EST November 16th, 2009. They are also able to participate in practice week from November 2nd – 9th.

During the Challenge your child will have 24 hour access to Mathletics on any computer connected to the internet. Your child has been given a unique username and password. They will have access to:

• Interactive curriculum activities
• Instant feedback
• Animated support that guides students through concepts
• Adaptive activities that respond to your child’s strengths and weaknesses

• Live Mathletics game engine
• Lively and exciting real time 60 second games – challenge students all over the world! (it’s safe and there is no communication between students)
• Amazing for developing basic maths skills

Students earn points for every correctly answered question and battle it out for a place on the Hall of Fame for 20 Top Schools, 50 Top Classes and 100 Top Students.
